Whatever it is, the fact that Pro Net Link has a $5,800 product/service to offer top execs may give it a certain market appeal it wouldn't have otherwise. The high price indicates that this is not a so-so BB with a mediocre product.

Is anyone familiar with the Bloomingdale (I think) story about the women's sweaters that just wouldn't move? The store managers kept dropping the price from say, $45 to $40 to $35 to $25, etc. They were at their wits ends when they went to Bloomingdale himself and asked him what to do. He told them to raise the price to $75. Afterward, the entire line was sold in short order.

There is something to say about this principle: The perception that something expensive is also worth having is a large part of American buying mentality. How many of us has refused a cheaper product in favor of a more expensive one because we assumed it was better. It depends on how much that product means to us. If top execs believe that the $5,800 service gives them a real edge, I think they will go for it in short order. Needless to say, such an expense is peanuts for the budget of a larger company.

My guess is that the service being offered does not only have the perception of value, but also is valuable. Maybe even a bargain at that price.

So, Pro Net Link is offering: free access; $360 access and now $5,800 access. Something for everyone.
