Stan,

>Is anyone familiar with the Bloomingdale (I think) story about the women's sweaters that just wouldn't move? The store managers kept dropping the price from say, $45 to $40 to $35 to $25, etc. They were at their wits ends when they went to Bloomingdale himself and asked him what to do. He told them to raise the price to $75. Afterward, the entire line was sold in short order.<

Haven't heard that one but I don't doubt it. Heard another one about a guy who was transferred and trying to sell his house quickly. The house was worth around $250,000 and he put it on the market for $225,000. Two months went by and no offers. The realtor suggested that he drop the price a bit. He said "No Way". Raise the price to $275,000. She thought he was nuts, but it sold in a week. Go figure! : )

Have a nice weekend,
