MS bought fox-pro for the database engine. The jet engine was incorporated into access (which by the way, last I heard, is being phased out in favor of the single user version of SQL Server). They have updated fox pro, there just aren't that many developers using it. Just like there aren't many DBase programmers these days.

MS did not have a source code control system so they bought SourceSafe and integrated it into their development environments. You can say it is poor or poorly documented but they didn't buy it to destroy it. They may have mismanaged it but there's no crime in that.

Maybe the problem is that you're trying to read it in Netscape.
