Gary, Dell may rue the day they tied their future so tightly to Intel. Now this current patent situation and the cancellation of the price cuts on the celeron are showing other American makers what to expect if Intel wins this one....higher prices, both for CPUs and memory and the risk that Intel will integrate vertically to the point where they want to become the only mobo maker and all the box makers buy from them. Dell would then become an extension of Intel(what are they now?)
Hard to say where this patent thing will end up. If AMD does a reverse takeover on a cross licensed for Intel chip maker then they could fight them to a standstill. How could motorola figure in this? as thy have been touted as a potential Dresden partner and under one batwing is an Intel cross license agreement?
