So long as no "real" shortage exists, investment in OSX services will be muted, imho - though it is always a good equity index trading vehicle substitute for CL futures.

OPEC's price controls have the long-term effect of encouraging alternative sourcing, alternative energy solutions; so (in the long term) it is self-defeating - though it does provide immediate relief for what was really a quite desperate currency situation... not only for oil but also for many other commodity producing countries.

However, if there is some "glitch" like an unexpected stock build-up - for whatever reason - OPEC's strategy or perhaps, OPEC's entire existence is threatened with complete collapse. It's a high stakes poker game, this; and if mother nature deals OPEC a deuce on winter fuel demand, they'll fold faster than a Bedouin tent in a sandstorm (^_^)
