BRCD and JNIC are still at the head of their class while ZOOX and VIXL are strong niche players and a very promising contender is ALAN Technologies. Ancor is a disaster waiting to blow up on SUN and anyone who is foolish enough to rely on them. I will admit they sure have a bunch of people fooled. I'm not one of them.

tensforme, if you are for real -

there are reasons why Vixel is not doing well: they're concentrated in a fading segment of the FC market (hubs), have had problems with unreliable components, and do not (yet?) have a convincing switch offering. I wish them well and hope that they will recover, but they certainly have a lot of work ahead of them.

There's a non-partisan Fibre Channel thread on SI where you can get unbiased info regarding the competitive landscape: Subject 17781

Morgan Keegan (www.morgankeegan.com) has in-depth research reports on ANCR, BRCD, ZOOX, and other fibre channel plays, which you can order by email for free. They don't cover VIXL (yet?), but the above reports do contain a very good description of the FC connectivity market.

Good luck,

- nic
