Frank - how thick are these undersea cables and what are they coated with? I assume that a recalcitrant lobster wouldn't be able to snip through them but what about limpets, starfish and those really big squid? Or are they so deep that there's not much down there except for the odd bottom-feeding value investor and day traders? Seriously, there was an article posted on the board a few months ago describing generally how undersea cables are sometimes suspended across topography and don't always lie on the sea bed because of all the ridges and gaps. Apparently this sometimes causes problems with deep water trawlers. RE: submarines. I also seem to remember that via the Global Marine acquisition GBLX has the world's largest commercially owned fleet of submersible vehicles.
