Well, since you asked, it is my opinion that here we have an example of the government bureaucrats' need to protect their future... my perception is that "up and coming stars" worthy of their salt in public service jobs, can only progress if they build a bigger more important "empire" below them... To do that effectively, they need "issues" so that they can justify their bigger staffs and budgets... Clearly, they do all this moving and shaking under the guise of protecting the public interest. What better and easier targets than successful innovative companies like MSFT and others in your list. It is simply another example of the regressive "tall poppy syndrome"... i.e., cut the successful and those motivated to succeed, down to size... preserve mediocrity and punish excellence. My gut feeling is that MSFT will survive this idiotic bureaucratic purge.

Karin,

Thanks for that website link. I went there and I am absolutely amazed at the number of huge and successfull companies the DOJ is attacking. I only went through "L" and I don't think I want to see any more. What is this? Are they trying to run off EVERY successful company in the US? I wouldn't be surprised if they were; but I was surprised by the list.

Perhaps I should have sent this to you PM; but I think it's important that others here go to that website and read the list!!!! I repeat it here in case they don't want to go back to your original post.
