I think that the car analogy has limited usefulness. Upon
careful reading of the whole judgement, it appears to me
that MicroSoft effectively threatened other hardware/software vendors, whom it was in partnership with. Yes Microsoft has produced some good products that have increased adoption of computers, but that is not the issue.
The point is that Microsoft may have used illegal business practices to stifle competition. This will not be the end
of Microsoft, but it will stop then bullying other companies. Then at some point in future the market will
decide. At least we should be able to buy PCs from the main
vendors with a choice of non-Microsoft operating systems,
previously this was very difficult or impossible.
