trading is a zero-sum game

No it isn't. It's worse.

Source - L. Elder, "Trading For A Living".

If it were just that easy.

Now the GG is a very intriguing way to manage risk when working on a LTB&H timescale.

DaYooper,

Trading is a very respectable approach to investing

I think Frank's joke is hilarious too, but for a completely different reason. The line is an oxymoron of sorts because trading is speculating, not investing, and therefore can't be any kind of approach to investing.
