Don't try and slide around the truth.

When did Corel get Word Perfect?
When did Corel get Quattro Pro?
When did Corel ship a fully integrated product?
How long has DELL been making PC's and when did they change to the JIT model?

Dwight,

<< Plus, I read the reviews, and they affirm that Corel Suite is a state-of-the-art package. FWIW, Corel invented the "tabbed worksheet" in QuattroPro spreadsheet, which MS copied. Also, Corel was first to put live web links capability into WordPerfect. Yes, WordPerfect had that *before* MS-Word. >>

I have to agree. I use both systems and Corel's products are much better. And in my mind that is what is at the heart of this argument - why do inferior MS products so dominate the market place.

The Canadian government even adopted MS stuff over Corel - despite the fact that Corel is Canadian, better and even head-quatered in the same city - Ottawa. Why - because BG gave them a big discount, that Corel could not afford to do.

When something gets so big that it can put out inferior products and still dominate - then there is something wrong.
Obviously competition has been stifled.

So - in the end, we use MS. As the British would say ... pity .... at home I use the better product ..... Corel.

Incidentally I do NOT work for the Canadian government - I work for another level of government and last year we switched all our systems to MS too .... uugggg!! .... talk about a step backwards.
