Mashater, and Apple stole Lisa from Xerox. And AMD copied their x86 processors from Intel. And ... at least (to quote your post) MSFT "bought" that code from Spyglass.

As to the term "integrated", I'd rather let the courts define it. All I know is that MSFT met their stated goal to make it extremely simple for anyone who bought Win95 to get on the 'Net.

reply to: "And where did Spyglass get their code? Mosiac. Which was the browser before Netscape that those 1000 people used. So MSFT basically used a previous version of Netscape's own code to put them out of business."

Mashater et al, why do so many people on so many threads wrongly presume that new posters are "newbies"? Considering everything fairly, most posters at SI are newbies. But I most certainly am not.

Fact is, I started my own software company in 1973 and have weathered the changes for some 25+ years. For many years, I have made it a point to read several pounds of printed matter every day. And once the 'Net unfolded, I changed over to reading kilo-screens of data per diem.

I have a B.S. in Finance, was the "Director of Electronics -- R & D" at a publicly traded company in the 70's and have been the CEO of a software company since that time. I have personally built several million dollars worth of PCs for Fortune 500 companies (getting your hands dirty is a good thing!) and have maintained a constant vigil on current events throughout time. To those who think that C++ mastery is a way to Vishnu, I invite anyone to a contest where we take an end user's expressed needs and turn them into useable code.

To those who think that they can dispatch my posts with a few unkind words, I invite them to post their education, training and experience. To those who post nasty words late at night. I hope that you have more to offer than unkind words.

IMHO, the world deserves better than what I have to offer, not less. But by the treatment I have received here, I would say that SI MSFT vs Netscape survives by its short-haired ignorance and little more.

I REALLY hope that these statements P**s off those who have posted here of late. But I also hope that it makes them think and reconsider who they are and why they are here.
