Lawrence,

The 5.3 release scheduled for January will have the ability to add market makers to the various tickers on eSignal. That will probably help as you will be able to see what MM's are offering what in a ticker fashion (other than the current L2 ticker).

NOT possible from time & sales or from reading LII to know exactly who's clearing. The closest you can get to this is tracking size on the bid or offer...
For example, if you're seeing MLCO bidding 50 with a size of 30, a trade of 1000 crosses, and MLCO size drops to 20, you can pretty much guess that Merrill purchased 1000 shares on the offer of 50.
It's more obvious with the retail MMs like MASH or NITE. A lot of retail orders are smaller, like a size of 1 or 3,etc. They'll bid and disappear.
