Car purchase: no trouble..any Honda or Toyota

Best car in the universe (Cheeky's right) F355;

Most fun for the $$$$ used BMW M3.

Best car gone bye-bye: Subaru SVX

SVX is the only high perf car I even owned that didn't have a front or rear, yup rear, tire shimmy...come wi the tires.

WebMister- I have owned numerous Toyotas in the past 20 years. They are excellent cars- very reliable, and hold their value well.

Just sold a 95 Camry XLE, and bought a Plymouth Grand Voyager. I hated doing it- but the wife wanted a 4-door mini-van. A 97 Chrysler is the least expensive 4dr. van you can find. Chrysler invented the mini-van, I figure, and have been making them long enough to figure it out. We like it so far- but time will tell.

I love my Mercedes too. Maintenance is more expensive than your average Jap. car and you have to burn premium fuel- but Mercedes also hold their value quite well, once they are 8-10 years old. I was actually offered more than I paid for it a couple of times- two years after buying it. Of course I always 'shop' hard for a vehicle, and never pay more than book value.

No Japanese car I have ever driven can compare to driving a Mercedes, FWIW. German cars are built with the driver in mind, no doubt- not the wallet. <g> They are better than average in reliability, but less reliable than most Japanese cars.

Good Luck,
TW
