Olu,

>>>Providing an inexpensive operating system that would work on inexpensive hardware<<<

I guess you havent heard of Linux. It's free ( and it doesnt crash every 2 hours!!)

How user friendly is Linux, and I mean to the average world-wide user, not a Unix experienced person? I'm not saying that Windows is the be-all and end-all of user friendly, far from it, but you can ask a neighbor, or your child, or someone down the hall at work, and there's a good chance one of them can help you with it. Not so with Linux.

Tony

Only one problem -- it wasn't here 15 years ago when the PCs started. Do your history. Just because a company is successful does not mean it is incompetent or crooked. Microsoft and Intel were crutial, and will remain so for the immediate future, in the computer industry.
