MM, I don't see what the big deal is about Voltaire's original post suggesting covered calls going into earnings. It was just one man's opinion. There were plenty of rebuttals posted within milliseconds. His approach was prudent, particularly given the fact that he is responsible for investing other people's money. One of the purposes of the thread (IMHO) is for people to propose investment strategies, and for others to critique them. Everyone can decide for themselves what makes the most sense for their situation. I suspect quite a few people appreciated the discussion and learned something about the pros and cons of doing covered writes.

mm, I agree. This thread is a bunch of old-time friends patting each other on the back, for the most part. I know, I am not one of the crowd and that is fine with me as I never have been a follower type, more of a Lone Ranger! <gg> The posts from people letting us all know they just made their first million are a hoot.
