Netscape, even though I use it, has become a weighty piece of bloatware. You might try increasing the memory allocated to the program, to see if that helps with the crashes. If not, I have found version 4.5 to be reasonably stable on the Mac system. IE is actually leaner and meaner than recent Netscape offerings. As a creature of habit, I haven't changed yet, but I'm not ruling it out.

Thanks, Donna. I've got 35 MB dedicated to Netscape alone. I prefer the new IE interface, but Netscape runs faster on my Internet connection and Macs for some reason.

What do you feel the implications or repercussions of the DOJ's case against Microsoft having on other tech companies? Do you not think a nice trophy rack to hang a few hats on won't tempt them to collect some handsome hats?

When CEO's like Lou Gerstner are spouting off in public speeches how the telecom industry will not make the mistake of the PC industry and vowed to fight for open standards, I'm curious how possible repercussions might not be felt in other areas of interest of Gorilla Gamers going forward. I would hate to think what T's CEO, coupled with some other tel-tech companies, might be 'unhappy' in some way that a dominant standard was chosen (not theirs of course) by the market place going forward. Wouldn't that be ironic? The ultimate monopoly or yesteryear crying 'Monopoloy'! Regardless of whether or not any unfair practice is ever sighted as a result of the dominant player - couldn't it be a target at some point in the future? I'm not suggesting it ever will happen, just that as gamers in gorillas - we should keep the radar up.

Other than that, I was just spouting off on the eve of what might turn out to be an unwanted day in this investor's portfolio.

Good Morning Donna,

Being a Star Trek aficionado I appreciate your reference to Microsoft's Borg mentality. I think it was an ingenious comparison.
Monday will certainly be interesting.
