I have 2 different vid-cards an s3 virge and the new Creative 3D Savage. Both loaded fine. I needed to go into Control Panel, then to Display, click the Settings tab.. You'll see the two monitors in the picture box.. Below that is a drop down box. Click on the default monitor and then click "extend Windows Desktop onto this monitor.

You can drag and drop the monitor icons to match the configuration you have on your computer desk..

You'll need to make sure the right adapter is running each monitor and install monitor software to each also..

Hope this helps instead of hinders...:^)

Check to see if you have matched the physical location of the monitors to the display setting.

Edit: Whoops, I see C Horn already suggested this.
