RE "I suspect we are headed for a downturn (possibly starting tomorrow) but the future looks bright, so I don't have a need to protect the short term. For a different stock that I had less confidence in, I would seriously consider it."

Good point. While I've been talking about TA, never ignore the fundamentals. It's knowledge of the fundamentals that will keep you in good stocks while the weaker hands are selling.

Please, people. I'm talking about TA because that's what I was asked about. Do not pay attention to TA to the exclusion of fundamentals.

I don't own JDSU because the chart looks good. The chart looks good because the fundamentals are there, and investors are realizing it. I just use TA to tell me when to get in and get out.

The fact that JDSU is overpriced by my charts does not tell me to get out of this investment. JDSU has too much future for that. It just tells me that there is a higher probability of the stock going down in the next few weeks than there is of it going up more. I just want to protect my profit, not get out of the stock.
