>>So, back to the subject at hand, what do you think will happen to MSFT, the market in general, and QCOM in particular this week?<<

ACHEM, Now I know how George W. Bush feels when asked who the heads of state of four countries are.

I don't know about the market and I don't know about Microsoft (except that enough people hate/envy BG that they will gladly put a nail in the coffin if given the opportunity) but I do know that I trust Irwin Jacobs.

I think the QCOM meeting on monday is going to be a very big deal. IJ is good at managing expectations and this is the "high datar" debut. It will be well planned, well executed, and impressive. I think I read there are going to be three days of presentations to the industry. You can't have people hanging around for three days if there is no substance. IJ won't leave us high and dry.

I heard that analysts vame away from the Motorola demo unimpressed. I can't see that happening here. IJ doesn't follow wallop punches with wimpy ones. To follow a four to one split announcement with anything less than monumental would be anticlimatical. The split and all the ruckus will mean major coverage and those who have had doubts about CDMA will have tons of articles to read and become convinced. I don't see a Q pull back early this week.

But that's just me.
