After hour trades from Schwab show the last trade for Pair at 13 15/16 with the bid and ask at 13 1/8 and 14 5/8. The after hour market is extremely erratic and unreliable as an indicator for price movements the following trading day. The only exception to this is when news is announced or leaked after the closing of the regular market. Typically, the bid-ask almost always straddles the last price on the regular market with a spread of from $1 to $2 dollars. For example, after hour trades and quotes for Pair would normally be 13 1/8 with a bid-ask of 12 1/2- 13 11/16. On Friday, the after hour trading in Pair had an atypical very strong upward bias. The question is: what caused this upward bias? Does anyone have information that would shed light on this upward movement after the market closed?
