Markets dislike uncertainty, whatever your allegiance it
is possible that capital will flow out of Microsoft simply
to avoid that uncertainty. Also new talented engineers and
programmers might choose other companies, particularly startups. IMHO the long term future depends upon Microsoft buying innovative products; this FOF may make that process more difficult.

I (like everyone else!) use Microsoft products and believe they should keep all the rights to their innovations, however it is obvious that their business practices have very severly damaged their credibility. I just hope that we have the choice of buying a PC from Dell, Gateway, HP, etc without a Microsoft product in the very near future.
