A slap on the wrist? They had a Judge and his staff riding them for 20 years. IBM was prohibited from tying its own OS to the PC - they were forced to allow Microsoft to gain that position.

Microsoft and Intel are what they are today due to that "slap on the wrist". Had IBM been permitted to continue to use the tactics that you want to permit Microsoft (which tactics Bill Gates carefully studied), there wouldn't be a Microsoft and there wouldn't be an Intel in anything like the form they exist in today.
