IMHO this may hurt Msft share price and image in the short term, but in the long run this is probably just a road bump. Reality Injection: out of the the 100M or so PC's that will sell next year there is no sign that less than 80% will be running 98/NT/2000. Therefore I don't think we'll see a mass exodus to an alternative PC OS because of this trial; I'm sticking with my Windows desktop.

FWIW, I don't think the DOJ vs. Microsoft case is a criminal action (but is instead a civil enforcement action). I haven't heard anybody mention "beyond a reasonable doubt" as the standard of proof. But that's not a legal opinion!
