its a beach entry just south of the pier.. between the breakwater and the pier. at the end of the breakwater is where the canyon starts. at about 80 feet it levels off for awhile then it just drops.....

(Interesting. i only pressed 'submit' button once... got two posts out of it somehow.)

Night Diving is awesome!

Did a bit of it off of Drake's Island, Panama (where Sir Francis Drake was buried at sea).

Take your underwater flashlights and spotlight for spiney lobster... their eyes just light up. The trick is prying them out of their hiding places.

Another place I used to love diving is off of Carmel, CA... Two great spots, Mortuary Beach... (errr.. Monastery Beach, that is.. :0), and Point Lobos..

Tons of sea life, kelp, sea otters, sea lions, and a few sharks from time to time (although I was informed that Great Whites don't frequent the kelp beds).

Thanks for the heads up all for the diving tips here in the DC area... I haven't dove since '94, but one of these days I'm looking to get back into the habit.

Regards,

Ron
