John just did that on Q charts and if we could stay in that channel till the end of the year the price would be $1042 per share
But maybe we will get a bounce when it splits

Yes, stock charts are like fractals, in that they are self-similar at different scales. Sorry for the jargon -- it simply means that there are trendlines at different time spans, as you point out.

My chart shows a 12-month long trend channel. That qualifies as both a medium and long-term trend in my book. (Some people would limit long-term to more than one year.) Within that 1-year channel, JDSU moves up and down in short-term trends.

I know I'm stating things you already know, John. But others are listening. :-)

As you point out, JDSU has not yet broken the short-term uptrend. I expect it to do so this week -- both because JDSU is way above it's moving averages, and because the Nasdaq is at the top of its channel. I expect a market sell-off, and JDSU will participate.

That won't be the end of the world. It will come back. JDSU is super-strong fundamentally. So I intend to keep owning this stock.

Say, that's an idea. If JDSU were a comicbook hero/villain, who would it be? What are JDSU's super powers? (Super vision for one!)

You can see so many channels. I only get Showtime and HBO, but have not signed up for ESPN's newest offerings. Are they worth getting?
