Vixel, founded in 1991, was ranked 108th on the ''Inc. 500'' list for the company's high percentage of revenue growth over a five-year period. Vixel's revenue increased more than 1,800 percent between 1994 and 1998 and the company's number of employees swelled nearly eight fold.

The Puget Sound Business Journal, serving the greater Seattle area, ranked Vixel the 10th ''Fastest-Growing Private Company'' headquartered in Washington state. Companies make the list based upon percentage increase in revenues over a three-year period, with Vixel's revenues jumping by 468 percent for the 1996 to 1998 period.
Vixel offers a broad range of SAN interconnect products, including Fibre Channel switches, hubs and transceivers, all manageable under one software umbrella, SAN InSite(TM).
