I think we weren't talking about the government, we were talking about the people. Actually, we were talking about the stuff the people make, which can't be faked. It either works, or it doesn't, that's the ultimate test. For example, what clearer demonstration of corruption than the result of the earthquake in Turkey? Bribing officials works in the short run, but adhering to engineering standards is the only thing that works in the long run.
