New headline--- "Judge's ruling sinks world economy" LOL!! Too many people worry too much.........
TOKYO, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Tokyo stocks gave up their early
gains and sank by midday on Monday, as uncertainty about the
prospects for Microsoft Corp <MSFT.O> shares and their possible
negative impact on Wall Street stocks left the Tokyo market wary.
Traders said the concerns were underlined by a slide in S&P
futures <0#SP:> traded on Globex, after news late on Friday that
a U.S. federal judge said Microsoft, which just recently joined
the Dow 30 <.DJI>, used its monopoly power to punish competitors.
Stock indices also suffered from profit-taking amid concerns
that shares in Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (NTT)
<9432.T>, a leader in the telecommunications sector, may suffer a
brief setback after a share offering expected later this week.
The benchmark Nikkei average <.N225> was down 136.80 points
or 0.75 percent at 18,218.10. December Nikkei futures <0#JNI:>
dropped 100 points to 18,240.
