Umbro, The continuing widening of spreads between corporates and Treasuries has been the underlying backbone of my maximum income portfolios, and has worked like a charm. I love the Lawrence Welk analogy. I still remember the spoof from the fifties, "turn off the bubble machine. Turn off the glub, glub, glub...." <g>
