WSJ(11/8): Ariba, Siebel Systems To Develop Web Software

From The Wall Street Journal

Ariba Inc. partnered with Siebel Systems Inc. to develop software permitting companies to execute sales, purchases, deliveries and customer service online. Ariba, Sunnyvale, Calif., which develops electronic-commerce software for corporate buyers, will integrate Siebel's software applications for Internet- business transactions into its software. Siebel of San Mateo, Calif., will integrate programming language used in Ariba's software into products allowing suppliers to build e-commerce sites and gain access to Ariba's purchasing network. Terms weren't disclosed. The companies expect to begin shipping the products in March. They said they will sell the products separately but will provide technical support to each other's customers. They are expected to announce the alliance today.

You are the envy of all, Kha vu. Did you get the workstation? The big secret to speed is the harddrive - preferably Ultrawide SCSI which is 30% faster than a normal SCSI (which is still faster than anything IDE/EIDE/ATI).

Half a GIG of RAM (a.k.a. a "light-speed" 500Mb HD) doesn't hurt either. Sheesh.
