You are correct that ZIXI is benefiting from the general bubble in internet stocks. You aren't missing anything, and - in fact - it isn't worth even a tiny fraction of its current valuation. However, going short (or long!) many of these issues is a gamble. ZIXI will eventually trade near or at zero. Between now and then it could certainly go much higher. If I could accurately predict when the bubble bursts I would simply do nothing until the most opportune time ...then buy puts. Instead, I invest in issues which will be sure winners in the new internet economy: AOL, CSCO, MSFT, YHOO etc. because when money goes rushing out of crud like ZIXI I don't believe it will leave the market, instead I think it will be put to work in the winners.

If you want to speculate - then buy stocks like COVD, CLIC and VERT. They are also money losers, but they also have real products and rapidly expanding markets. Eventually, a few will become big, big winners.

This is exactly why the vast majority of my short positions consist of non-internet issues...preferably with the taint of fraud or scam.

Conclusion: I still think it is a bad idea to short any internet stock.
