Elmer, I was imprecise. I was referring to the Athlon chipsets that reputedly contain an infringing aspect of the P6 bus, that FIC was legalised by Intel i the UK about last week. I was not intending to imply a pin for pin compatibility since the Slot 1 is indeed electrically different but physically identical to the AMD Alpha connector.An American importer would be able to import those chipsets and plant them and would be able to defend the case for 2-3 years of production before finally losing....and then it would just be a fabrication shell anyway.

As to mobo maker opression.....what do you think that lawsuit was? That is the tip of the iceberg, they are pushing and pulling every lever they can to stall and destroy the Athlon and no amount of denial by you or Pawl will change that...I understand you are like Caesar's wife(who must be seen to be above suspicion)....you must be seen to be pro-intel for political reasons...and so you must deny this very evident truth.
