Hey,
UPS IPO price to be firmed up tue eve 11-9-99.
Expected price- $49@share.
Range on secondary market on wed close- 2 to 2 1/2 times IPO price. (Make your own guess)
I talked with my broker at State Street in New York. I questioned him as to what the range was on the limited buy orders received by him were-he said "as low as $52 and as high (catch this) as $130. This was just for wednesday's trading.
As far as freight cost for Internet ordered products-to many people it doesn't matter. I delivered 8 20# bags of CAT FOOD to one customer. He said "freight was free-paid for by the shipper". Ya, now they are ordering cat food over the Internet!! This is only just the beginning-UPS volume in the next 3-5 years is expected to increase between 40 and 60% mostly due to increased International shipments, Internet sales, and E-docs (documents transferred over a secure line). Just as this IPO will set a record, IMHO the days following will be great for those able to catch this ride. Please do your own DD. Pete
