RE:"

Intel execs have publicly disclosed that .18 / Coppermine production is
on or ahead of schedule. They have also stipulated that they intend to
meet demand overall for the Q. I have no reason to disbelieve them."...
WHO's and what Schedule?????
OK,,,so...where are all these Coppermines?
a. Stockpiled at at Intel? Intel says no inventory? Hummm
b. At distributors? Surely some would be for sale?
c. At OEMs looking for a board? Thanks Intel for sticking us with these chips and no boards or RAM.-Mikey D.
d. Intel has been fibbing and has just now cranked up production.
After easing off after it was obvious the thang wasn't going to launch?
e. Intel is having production problems.

There, I made it multiple choice...

RE <<<Barrret has already gone out on a limb and stipulated that Intel will have a record breaking Q4 w.r.t. revenues. If the Intel fabs were having problems, I'm fairly certain he would not have said this so early in the Q.>>>

PB,I am sorry, I can't buy into this projection even if Barrett said it. Wasn't Barrett the one who predicted in July a better second half, or at least sanctioned his subordinates to say so? Wasn't it Barrett who introduced the Itanic chip a year ahead of when it will be available in order to keep the Street's focus off its shortcomings? Wasn't it Barrett who moved the cumine's launch up in an effort to steal AMD's thunder when, in fact, the chip was not ready for shipment?

You all have accused the AMD longs of following Sanders every word....well you all treat Barrett as if he were a God, and intc and he were infallible. Sorry to disappoint you. And no, I don't believe intc will produce cumine in volume this quarter just because he says it. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! or the proof is what's on the stores shelves, just like it was for the Athlon.

RE <<<Actually, if PC demand is strong, AMD and Intel both may have decent Q4 results. The way the respective stocks seem to be moving in tandem, this seems to be what the market expects.>>>

And intc and AMD are not moving in tandem; AMD is up right now and intc is down. At this time the motivation behind each stock's moves is very different.
