I got a kick out of where the CDMA division is going to be at :
... Most of the engineers in the division are located in a dedicated wireless technology center in San Diego...

Indeed this whole industry is founded on raiding & 're-developing' and reverse engineering. This had been going on from day 1 Man! That's what's keep a lot of lawyers in Silicon valley driving Porches. Indeed TJ was so proud of the lawsuits over his AMD personel that supposedly he got the lawsuit papers framed and displayed behind his desk when Cypress first gotten started. At least I heard a rumor that way.

I guess 'copying' is only when another country does it ... <giggles>

As to whether LSI's chip will be successful or whether Motorola's chip will be successful, hope somebody who knows the CDMA/wirless market segments can comment more on that. To me, it's not doubt when once the market gets going, it will segment into various categories. Would love to have somebody, perhaps the QCOM fans, discuss the potential market segments a little.
