(COMTEX) B: ITXC Corp Hits Sunday Peak of One Million Minutes
B: ITXC Corp Hits Sunday Peak of One Million Minutes

PRINCETON, N.J., Nov 9, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- On Sunday, November
7th, ITXC (NASDAQ:ITXC) carried a million minutes of phone call traffic
on ITXC.net - its worldwide Internet telephony network.

Ordinary telephones were used at both ends of all these calls. In most
cases, the callers were not aware that their calls were routed by their
carriers to ITXC and over the public Internet.

A year ago, the fast moving company recorded its first million minute
month. Sunday is typically the company's peak day as users around the
world call home internationally. Company officials caution that peak
load is substantially higher than average runrate and should be viewed
as a demonstration of scale and demand but not used to estimate total
traffic.

"Internet telephony is coming of age," according to Jeff Pulver,
founder and chairman of Pulver.com. "Increased call quality is the key
to this growth. Now that the proof of concept phase of the industry is
over, funding from the successful public offerings of both suppliers
and service providers is fueling even faster growth."

By using the Internet rather than traditional phone networks for
international transport, ITXC can provide wholesale international calls
to its carrier and reseller customers at a better price than is
possible on traditional phone networks. The company's BestValue
Routing(TM) technology provides customers with consistently high call
quality by routing around Internet congestion.

On Sunday, ITXC completed nearly 117,000 calls to 157 different
countries. Through a combination of the Internet and the traditional
phone network, ITXC can reach virtually any phone in the world.

"Our carrier customers now use us not just for a better price but also
better call quality," said company founder and chairman, Tom Evslin.
"Because the Internet gives us so many routing alternatives, we usually
can complete a higher percentage of calls successfully to developing
countries than our second and third tier international competitors who
use traditional telephony."

Recently, ITXC announced new affiliation agreements with Ameritech,
Justice Technologies, and MTU-Inform Company Ltd, the largest
competitive carrier in Moscow, as well as a more than doubling of
capacity at the companies hubs in New York and Los Angeles. Previously
announced major affiliates include Bell Atlantic, China Telecom, GTS,
Japan Telecom, and Korea Telecom.

ITXC Corp now has over 25 carriers connected to its switches in New
York and in Los Angeles. In addition to switch and worldwide
affiliate-originated traffic, calls also enter ITXC.net from ITXC
SNARCs on carrier premises on three continents.

Evslin added: "Because the economics of Internet telephony are so
compelling, the company's growth is generally determined by the speed
at which it can arrange high quality call termination capacity around
the world. As the quality of Internet telephony continues to improve,
we can serve more and more of the $80+ billion dollar international
market."
