Well if he'd been quick on his feet he wouldn't have answered, seems to be one obvious interpretation that could be made from this set of facts. Of course you can say his stupid mistake gave a heads up to the others- but that doesn't make it a smart mistake now does it? OR at least that is ONE interpretation of events. You seem to be under the impression that your interpretation of events reaches the level of fact. I find that interesting and amusing.
