OTOT, and I think I was generous assuming that this price is justified if you see $100 B in the "foreseeable future". The addition of MSFT to the DOW might be its demise, I figure it could cost the dow some 500 points, eventually.

OT the market cap of Microsoft
That's a lot of money, and there are a lot of lawyers who would like to get a share of that money. It looks like the Microsoft strategy may be to dig in their heels and buy as many polititans that they can. To my thinking that is a risky and expensive way of dealing with their current circumstance.

It is interesting to note that today the market cap of Microsoft at @500Bn is more than half the GDP of the United Kingdom, now that's scary!

Isn't that something of an apples/oranges comparison. What's the market cap of all stocks in the UK stock market? Alternatively, how do Microsoft revenues compare to the UK GDP?
