Aren't they somewhat hobbled already by the exorbitant prices of the companies that they might want to acquire? Although, it doesn't seem to restrain Cisco and some others.

Michael--There was a Value-Line guy on CNBC this morning who loves tech stocks, even though he agrees that most of America is "locking down" on new purchases. His reasoning: The rest of the world is going to have to catch up with the US and that will give rise to new opportunities for US tech companies. It is a point, although possibly a small one. To what extent do you think that new foreign demand can offset the hypothesized nuclear winter at home?

Also, ordered Hickey's publication. Thanks to you and Fleck for pointing it out.

Michael or anyone, could you please explain the wash
rule as far as taking a tax loss ? I believe you can't
buy the stock back within 30 days but what is to
prevent you from buying it back first and then selling the
older stock to book your loss ?

Thanks,
DN

Michael, seems like nothing, even the much anticipated
Microsoft sell off will tame this Naz beast - reminds
me of Schwarzenegger in the original "Terminator" -
takes a licking and keeps on ticking..

And here I am getting closer and closer to a 100% cash
position. Getting hard to keep the faith.....
