Paterno is a great coach, but he is also human and does make some mistakes and misjudgments just like anyone. Have been and still am a big fan of Paterno and his winning systems. It is just a shame that the team has blown its opportunity to play for #1, by losing a game that could have easily been won against a credible foe.

It is a tragedy that the #1 football team in the country is not decided on the field in some sort of tournament. The BCS is a good first step. The subjective nature of the rankings still punishes teams that do not pile on the points when they have the opportunity. Not that it is right, but it is an unfortunate fact. Not everyone that votes can see the game, so a lot of assumptions are made based on the scores alone. Joe does not pay attention to such things, which is probably why PSU goes from #2 to #8 with a tough loss to a good football team.

Notice how Nebraska, Tenn., Florida have all battled back in the rankings, and it was not by beating top tier teams!!

Don't even go there with me on this subject.

First, Nits have a right to do it -g-

and second it is true. As for running up scores...that isn't what I meant. I meant letting large leads slip away. We did that in 1994 and it cost us the NC. We don't have the ability to run up scores anymore even if we wanted too.

SAY WHAT??? Hummm...

My sympathies to PSU fans here, I think you are a great bunch; (especially you Gary if you are reading this). I know these games hurt. We had our heartbreak the 2nd game.

BCS poll is out for this week.
