Furniture Brands International and Home Depot Partner to Sell Kitchen Cabinets Under the Thomasville Name

ST. LOUIS, Nov 8, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In a partnership that brings
together America's largest home furniture manufacturer and the world's
largest home improvement retailer, Furniture Brands International Inc.
(NYSE: FBN) and Home Depot Inc. (NYSE: HD) jointly announced today that
Home Depot will sell quality kitchen cabinets in its stores under the
Thomasville brand name.

Home Depot expects the new cabinets to arrive in stores beginning
mid-2000.

Christian J. Pfaff, President and Chief Executive Officer of
Thomasville Furniture Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of Furniture
Brands International, stated: "This agreement represents a first for us
- the first time we have licensed our brand name for use on a product
other than furniture. It is a testament to the strength of the
Thomasville name that a successful retailer like Home Depot has
recognized the ability of the Thomasville brand to attract
quality-conscious consumers."
