Energy shares soar, oil ends up amid support from OPEC
biz.yahoo.com

NEW YORK, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Energy shares soared on Monday amid
favorable outlooks for the sector and oil prices closed higher
with underlying support from oil producers saying they were mulling
extending global supply cuts.

December delivery U.S. light crude settled 27 cents up at $23.27 a
barrel in thin trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange, continuing
to hold within its recent range. In London, Brent blend finished 45
cents up at $23.28.

The gains helped oil shares buck Wall Street's seesawing trade to
close firmly in the black.
