Tools Enable Easier Use of Copper in Making Chips

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Copper, a material that enables computer chips to run faster, has taken a long time to be introduced, primarily because it is difficult to work with. Now, however, Applied Materials Inc. has devised chip-manufacturing equipment that will enable chip-makers to utilize copper more efficiently. Applied is sending the tools out to customers now.
