Re: Odds and ends about Chalem

Q. Was Conkling ever known to drive Chalem around?
A. Yes. Conkling would drive Al if the situation called for it. He was one of the "designated gofers".

Q. Did Chalem often work out of his house?
A. Yes. Al often did business out of his house, his boat, the Hampton house, etc. Kimberly (Scarola; his live-in girlfriend) complained that people were always coming over to do business. She said she couldn't leave personal possessions on the boat because she never knew who would be there.

Q. Did Chalem often wear a baseball cap and suit?
A. Yes. Al had a balding head, and would often wear a baseball cap. However, what was unusual was that he was wearing a suit. Al rarely wore a suit-- he dressed
very casually, like he was in Florida. Wearing a suit was out of character and very unusual.
