Not sure if he appreciates it now, but I hope he will appreciate it in the future. I managed to get him to appreciate the fact that survey articles that paraphrase someone else's research are not always reliable. And I did sneakily expose him to a couple of different college libraries, including Georgetown Med., where the sight and sound of hyperwonks hyperstudying is always amazing. Driving through Georgetown I gave him a rap about how much fun it would be to live at home during college and be able to go to Georgetown and hang out on the weekends, how when I was in college I worked all the time just to have a roof over my head and a meal on the table. I do want him to go to college someplace local, and not go away until graduate school.
