Ratan: Naipaul and Rushdie on India You know the two writers of Indian origin. They are, as expected, have different views. Naipaul described Hindu militancy as a Creative Force which was a necessary corrective to history. The India-born writer Rushdie called Naipaul as a Cheer leader for BJP naipaul also said the advent of Christianity did not damage India the way Islam did. Naipaul added that a united India would have exhausted all its energy on just holding itself together, in view of the Islamic movements of the past three decades. I feel that he implies that we lucked out, getting rid of pakistan. With United Indian subcontinent, it would have been more difficult to manage all these "fissiparous" tendencies. PS Naipaul has written a book Titled Beyond Belief Islamic Excursions Among the Converted Peoples. A very informative and well-written book. The report adds that there is no one formula to handle these three countries. it recommends that US will have to deal with theem on their own terms. India's regional influence is hampered by two countries, namely China and Pakistan. The report tells that Vajpayee has reversed the more than a century of weakness and inferiority vis-a-vis western states. It made a mention of Pakistan's Ghauri missile, a renamed Ding Dong Dungy, Donkey Dung missile (No Dong) from North korea. Pope's visit to India from an evangelical point of view was an utter failure, because the Jain, the Hindu, and the Sikh high "priests" didn't endorse Pope's point of view. It is like saying: You made your point, we made ours and let us be friends. According to Naipaul, India's creative force is the response to the Muslim & British rule and as the pentagon study points out , India has shed its colonial legacies. India is seeking its rightfull place among the family of nations. India is reborn in the view of pentagon study and Naipaul's view. Creative Force is the Sakti.
