Cirruslvr,

<. However, I am guessing for a pretty low ASP for the Athlon this Q - $250. During the CC, AMD said last Q's ASP was just below $300, and this Q's would be somewhat lower. I'm using $250 to be the worst case scenario for Athlon >

I am expecting the ASPs to go down too. Exact numbers are tough to call, given the low volume levels that AMD is operating at, the speed mix that is being shipped out is hard to tell.

We used to hear about 600s being shipped as 500s and if comments on JC's are right AMD may be shipping 650s as 500s. All this is a result of the lousy June/August launch. If AMD marketing guys had any idea that the volume was not going to build till Q4 they probably wouldn't even have launched the 500s or may be even the 550s. Now, by shipping downbinned product, they will face the music in the form of lowered ASPs.
