China CNPC Sudan project output at 165,000 bpd

BEIJING, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Crude output at the Sudan operations of the China
National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) reached 165,000 bpd on October 31, China's
official International Business Daily reported on Friday.

That meant the annual crude production capacity of the operation was 8.0
million tonnes, the newspaper said.
It gave no further details.

CNPC has said it would drop the Sudan operation from inclusion in the
company it plans to launch in an initial public offerings.

CNPC has holds 40 percent of the equity in the Sudan project. Malaysia's
Petronas has a 30 percent stake, Canada's Talisman Energy Inc
25 percent and the Sudan government five percent.
