Evil Dead: gameinformer.com

Let's hope that this title marks the end to THQ's recent history of
"also-ran" titles that were mentioned in the same breath with mega-
successful titles. Let me illustrate:

Successful Title THQ Title

StarCraft Pax Imperia (RTS in space)
Zelda 64 Quest 64 (N64's first RPG)
Mario Kart 64 Penny Racers
??? Granstream Saga
??? Devil Dice
??? RedJack
??? Sinistar (Cutting-edge graphics-I say they forget about space titles)
??? Shao Lin (First RPG/multiplayer fighting game)
Tomb Raider??? Danger Girl???
Resident Evil Evil Dead???

THQ has released a lot of disappointing titles over the past 2 years,
not to mention some hyped titles which were killed, such as Speed
Tribes and Dead Unity (once mentioned alongside Resident Evil). Some
of the above-mentioned titles were not good titles (Pax), while others
were good games that didn't sell well (Granstream & Devil).

If THQ is going to achieve "big boy" status, it's gonna have to land
some serious chart-toppers like Resident Evil or StarCraft. Although
WCW/WWF titles do very well (and Rugrats, too), THQ needs some major
hardcore success. Hopefully, Evil Dead will achieve this. Until then,
we must take the kind words of the gaming press with a grain of salt,
especially since many of THQ's hyped titles have fizzled.

Other titles to watch for:

Felony Pursuit
Brunswick First Strike Bowling (I admit the graphics are cool, but
should GameFX be spending its time making a high-end BOWLING GAME?
Critical acclaim is good, but commercial success is better, no?)
Danger Girl
Summoner (BIG HYPE, BIG POTENTIAL)
